Does PingChat for iPhone cost?????????

From the App store on my iPhone 4, I downloaded the PingChat, for free as it said. Do you have to pay monthly for it or something or does it cost to send messages to people in different countries? So is it completely free even if you send photos and that etc? Please help, thanks - Jake.
