precedent? It seems he backed down because of threats of violence from Muslims, besides the president and Petraeus telling him to not do it(which was ultimately based on threats of violence from Muslims and angry protests). Does Jones' backing down set a bad precedent, in that us Free Peoples of the West will relinquish our right to free speech and expression if enough people get angry and threaten us? We will continue to lose our cherished freedoms every time Muslims threaten us because they get offended over everything?
Apathetic voter: I don't care if someone burns Qurans, Bibles or any religious texts. I'm an atheist. I similarly don't care if someone wants to have a bonfire of Richard Dawkins or other prominent atheist's books. I don't have the right to not be offended. Personally, I wish more people would read the Bible, Quran and atheist books(or any good books) more closely, but thats just my way of seeing things.
