Does Obama know that Lincoln was a Republican?

Lincoln held NONE of the political policy that Obama does. Lincoln believed in LESS government- not more. Lincoln believed that MEN could best run their own lives- NOT the government. The only similar trait that Lincoln has with Obama is they are/were both from Illinois. DEMS try to link Lincoln's inexperience but Lincoln was FAR more experienced in both politics and law than Obama is- so there is no comparison. But does Obama even understand politics enough to know that Lincoln was a die hard Republican?
Hey Bash- we don't care if NOW you want the country united behind Obama! Go pound salt baby! Obama did nothing but put down Bush when he was senator so now it is his turn to get ripped! Obama sucks and nothing can change that fact!

sixties- Lincoln believed in LESS government AND the abolition of slavery which the DEMS opposed.
 
Yes, Obama knows that but he doesn't really care about history. He intends to be like Lincoln by freeing illegal aliens from Capitalist oppression. He will be more like FDR the liberal fascist president who greatly expanded govt whether he had the constitutional authority to do it or not. Obama worships power, as did his hero, Saul Alinsky.
 
You have no idea what Lincoln believed in.

A hundred years vastly changes a political party. The Republicans aren't even close to what they were in the 1850's.

I'm not saying that Obama is Lincoln. I'm just pointing out the idiocy of thinking that the old Republican party is the same as today's.

BTW - Lincoln WAS faulted for having less experience. Where as Bush was credited for plenty of experience. Judgment > Experience.
 
My goodness, you seem to have missed the point my friend. The Republicans are not "at war" with the Democrats. From your tone it sounds as if one side of the aisle ought to be automatically aginst whatevr the other says. It's called "the loyal opposition".

Obama will use anything if he thinks it will benefit him. He is riding on Lincolns tails because he is an empty shell with only mimicked character.
 
BO doesn't care. It is all about identifying with a revered President to advance his own cult of personality.
 
The left will just explain it away by telling you that back then, a Republican was a liberal.
 
Lincoln's Republican party would be unrecognizable to him today. He didn't exactly believe in small government.
 
Isn't it odd that SOME people want to destroy and repeatedly attack a man who made it quite clear from day one that he would have no more of the bitter, partisan attacks if he were to win the election? Isn't it odd that this man has kept his promise, praising Lincoln, Regan, GW Bush, Bush 43, and the successes that they had? Obama has hired a relatively bi-partisan cabinet, he has signed on with several Republicans for their knowledge on vital issues. He has pledged to work with and for ALL Americans, not just those who voted for him. He has remained true to his word....sorry if that is offensive to you.
