Does my beta fish have a disease?

I just bought a beta fish last week and he seems like he might be sick already! I've noticed he stays at the bottom of his bowl a lot and he is growing some kind of algae type substance on his bottom fins. Are there any kind of drops I can get for him? It isn't too bad but I'm afraid it will spread.

it might just be a beta fish... they usually dont move much at all. they just like sleep at the bottom. and the algea is prolly just somthing that grows on all of them.

i got a beta fish for my dad and it always hang around in the bottom of the bowl also if you haven't cleaned the bowl since you got it you should clean it but dont use soap just plain water and rinse out everything

when you put new water in the bowl i think you have to put something in it so it wont kill the fish otherwise your fish is fine just let the bowl get too dirty my dad usually cleans his once a week

He is not sick, that is just how they live. Plus, that's just a sign you need to clean his bowl.
