does my 93 lincoln town car have a gearbox or a rack n pinion?

i have power steering fluid from what i was told was the gearbox. The auto part store said i might have a rack n pinion? Also, should i replace the power steering pump as well?
I meant to say i was told i had power steering fluid leaking from a seal in the gearbox. Do i have to replace the whole thing or can i just replace the seal?
