My wife had the Ortho Evra patch and then the Mirena birth control gizmo (sorry i dont know what else to call it haha) for a few months and stopped using it about 4 months ago. While using it she got a few infections which made a very foul odor as well. After it was removed her sex drive disappeared... Completely. We are 25 and 26 respectively and have not had sex in 2 months. Before that she would always deny me or if she did go along with my advances it really felt like it was out of pity and was a "lets get this out of the way" deal. We have seen a doctor, one suggested it was because of the stress of taking care of our 4 year old. I dont think this is true because an infant is much more stressful and we had a great sex life then. The other doctor suggested anxiety and prescribed some pills which just knock her out. Both dismissed the idea of the Ortho Evra being the cause. Has anyone experienced something similar?
Does Mirena or Ortho Evra cause a loss of sex drive?
