My friend entered the US with K-1 fiancee visa, got married, and is now applying for her green card.
Her husband works full time, and his income meets USCIS requirements, so he can sponsor her by himself.
However, his income is not that great, and because we all live in a city where living expenses are relatively high, they struggle a little financially.
Her husband used to live in a studio apartment, but after my friend moved in, the room got small for 2 people, and they moved in a low income housing after they got married.
Now with government's help, they pay less for rent, and get a bigger room.
But what they are concerned is, whether this move affects my friend's green card application or not.
If I remember correctly, housing should not affect immigration status, but they are worried if moving into a low-income housing "after" they got married would make them look like they struggle financially, because her husband is supposed to be sponsoring her.
So, if you know anything that might help, please let me know!!
Thank you!!
PS. His family lives in a different state, and they are not able to help them...
