Does it really matter how I turn off the bike?

First put the front tire against a strong structure that will not move.
Then rev to 5000 RPM in first gear and dump the clutch.
It will eventually shut off.

'95 Road King owners manual:

"The engine stop switch turns ignition ON or OFF and should be used at all times to stop the engine, especially in an emergency. To stop engine, push switch to position marked OFF - then turn key to OFF."

Make of it what you will...

So true about the horn I've been practising going for it with no traffic around. Don't know why as you can't hear the dang thing anyway.

Aha,,,I remember your pic in a thread where some nuthead did a burnout and was crying cuz his bike wasnt handling the same since then,...maybe you can do what you say and send us some picture of your bike after your "second" smart idea!! ) ...

I always look back at my bike when walking away also.....because.....dang it's a good lookin' bike and I like to look at it! If I am on it, I can't really look at it, and if it is at home, it has a cover over it, so when I'm out on it, I never get tired of looking at it!!!
