If i had the option of purchasing a new car in the city or going out to a small town are there any benefits or each or not? What about purchasing a new car from another state? I guess my question is, should location be a factor in purchasing a new car?

The biggest advantage would be taxes. Cars get taxed differently depending on where you live and where you buy them. Some counties have lower sales tax so driving to the next county might be an advantage.

However is state's like CA the tax on the car depends on where it is going not where it was bought. So if you are an LA resident you'll be taxed as if the car was bought in LA even if you drove to Bakersfield to get it. Buying over state lines can cause problems especially when bringing it to CA. The state wants to get the tax money and you'll end up paing taxes in BOTH states.

Just a word of the wise. You should ask this question again with your state (city too) called out so the community can be more specific. You may also want to consult older people in your are. They've done this or known someone who has. Old people are good for somethin!
