Does it matter if a car has high mileage yet it is made well by cadillac or

mercedes-benz? I've been browsing cars lately trying to find one to buy.

Since I don't know anything about cars... i was wondering if:

say there is like a 97 or so cadillac or mercedes but it has like 150,000 or so miles or more on it. would it not even be worth buying because it would break down easily or would it be a somewhat good investment because it is made by mercedes-benz or cadillac

(sorry if the question is a tad confusing)
thanks.

Neither one is good for investing money in. The Cadillac wants very badly, to just go to sleep. The Mercedes wants to do a good job, like Germans do, but demands also the best care, which is very expensive. It might be kept going 500,000 miles, but that will cost you as much as 20 toyotas .

its not like about the car brand, (ok maby a bit) but more about in what state the car is an it differs per specific model.

but its definetly not that Cadillac has more mile cars then lets say toyota or something.
Per instance i know that Ford crown victoria p71's are endurance cars. i have seen alot of them with 200.000+ miles and saw just a couple of days ago a 1995 vic with 425.000 miles still running very strong.
