I'm a medical student, and I want to get a tattoo on my shoulder. I have other tattoos that are not visible unless I'm in a swimsuit. Obviously this would not be visible in a clinical setting, but it may be in a social/professional setting. Will I appear less credible if, for example, at a formal event I don't cover it? I guess I could cover it with makeup, but I want to know what people think of seeing it out in the open.
Does it look unprofessional for a doctor to have a tattoo?
