Does he think that I like him just because I suddenly talk to him?

He's my neighbor
We're both 15
My parents dont let me play with boys so I rarely played/talked with him
We've known each other our whole lives and would have been best friends probably if I was allowed to hang out with him

Recently I just strated saying say hi how was your day etc after her comes home from school I (I NEVER DID)
I also say hi to him through my windows and I have (secretly) started to hang out with him outside more

Now he is starting to smile at me alot and grin and strat conversations and I even asked him to accept my fb

I want to be just friends for now (I do like him abit) but the whole neighborhood kids think I like him all of because I started hanging out with him suddenly

I started hanging out with him NOT because I like him but because I wanted to become friends with him

Im wondering that is he thinking that I like him because I started hanging out with him suddenly?
I dont really associate with people because Im homeschooled, so sometimes people think I like someone but I really dont
