Does general bikers dislike Ducatist?

I think more of it is just stereotypes.

Ducati owners - Wanna be racers that frequent Starbucks and are snobs.
GSXR owners - Stuntards that crash when they go down the street.
CBR owners - Race stickered RESPOL body kit trying to drag a knee around the round about.
Yamaha owners - All try to be Rossi.
Harley owners - wanna be tough guys that buy all Harley branded leather that doesn't protect or look good.

Most people around here wave...usually the older cruiser crowd doesn't.
 
The new-to-me Duc is my 5th bike...The locals all wave no matter if it's the SS, one of the beemers, the old Honda 350 twin or the Puch moped (50cc's of snarling European testosterone!).
 
Around here it rains so much if you see another rider out you're just happy to see them. I always wave before I even look at what kinda bike they have. People don't seem to discriminate that much here.
 
well..this has some kind of history back in the 50th, 60th *as ive been told by my Dad cause there were only a few bikes on the roads like the Horex etc* and 70th and we kept doing this as a ritual up to the 90th, talking about the ol days back in Germany...
anyway...today...who gives a flying fark to wave at somebody you dont know and taking your hands off the handlebars...here in DR everybody you know personally will wave at ya or just shake the head as a sign of knowledge, without any importance the brand you have, and thats cool...
with this modern bikes and powers and traffic its just better to keep the sticky side down with both hands were they belong to be..just to be prepared in case some idiot in front of you braking hard or for whatever reason, you name it, to be better prepared for action, reaction or reflexes you might need in a specific moment though...
 
Aussie roads are pretty rough. Few of us take our hands off the bars to wave so those of us who acknowledge we share the mutual pleasure of riding exchange 'The Nod'. ...except for the self centered GenY lot as JDW noted.

Not always returned - I thought perhaps my nod wasn't obvious enough, but it is - I checked. (No, don't ask..).
We used to wave years ago - I still do if a long way out in the bush. Kind of back off on the nod as I get back into town, particularly in traffic. Always return it if they go first though.
I think we need to keep up what camaraderie still remains. We are a persecuted minority after all. Plus I occasionally sense a hint of envy from car drivers, who have no shared special bond.
I must say BMW riders are more inclined to acknowledge other makes nowadays than in the past. Still don't have much luck with the Harley riders - specially the ones with those skull face scarves (what's that all about?).
Still give a nod. If they're too lost in their own trip to nod back, that's their problem!
