hey every one, I would like to post my inquiry & hope to get your opinion. well, currently I live in second floor and I'm thinking to shift to other building but in the fourth floor without lift, my question is if this stairs to fourth floor will effect on my wife once she gets pregnant or not? not to mention the resone of this transfering is because of the rent increment which can not be handle it.
Thanks & best regards

hello,
if you want read something about pregnancy
i just come accross this blog which may help you :-

It's not just while your wife is pregnant that you have to take into consideration, imagine when baby is here, they need an unbelievable amount of equipment! It won't be much fun for either of you having to carry all baby's stuff up and down the stairs, car seats, and travel systems!
I would of thought that it will be a big hassle for your wife everytime she wants to take baby out for a walk, as she'll have to struggle down all those stairs with a buggy or pram, then go back and get baby, and when she gets home she'll have to disturb baby by getting him or her out the pram and carrying him/her up seperately (I assume).
I would think it will make it more difficult than living on a ground floor, or having a lift, but I guess other people must manage it. Ask your wife, as long as she would be happy to do it I'm sure it will work out.
You could just move there for now and keep your eye out for somewhere more suitable for you, and wait to start a family when you are somewhere you think you'll be happy.

I was on the fourth floor for my first two kids and it was fine. Your wife will just take more time to walk up the steps towards the end.

As a woman who is currently 37 weeks pregnant, I can say with completely certainty that while the stairs aren't likely to harm your wife, climbing them will doubtless make her very, very unhappy once she hits the third trimester. I only have to climb one flight of stairs to get to my apartment, but between the weight of the baby compressing my lungs and my pelvic area constantly aching (both of which happen to pretty much everyone at this stage) by the time I get to my apartment I feel like I'm going to die. And I'm in good shape, too. If I lived on the fourth floor, I'd probably just never leave home. Also, carrying a baby up and down that many stairs isn't going to be much fun, either. If your wife is planning on getting pregnant soon, I'd really recommend finding an apartment on the ground or first floor.
