Does Flintstones and Jetsons deserve a revival?

Where can I see Flintstones on the Rocks? I've heard so many great things about it and it seems like it would have been a good fit to show on Adult Swim a few years ago.

Sorry, but Billy West, nowadays, is responsible for George Jetson, and do you even realize Janet Waldo is retired? Kath Soucie would be a worthy successor, so my initial posting stands. Jeff Bergman is great as the current primary voice of Fred Flintstone.

I would only yes if it was done by a team that understood the original style of the show. If the revival of the Flintstones ended up being like Pebbles and Bam-Bam, than no thank you.

What Cartoon Network did with The Flintstones on the Rocks was amazing. That's the only thing that I consider on the same level as the original Flintstones (if not better :ack:). I mean, everything about it was perfect to me. The voices, the vibrant colors and top-notch design, all completely captured the original feel of the show while adding a modern pizazz to it. Ever since I first saw it, I felt that Cartoon Network should've kept the team they used on On the Rocks and created a new Flintstones show, and I still uphold that belief.

I had an idea a while back about what I would do if I was in charge of Cartoon Network. I would create a "New Classics" division of Cartoon Network Studios and buy back the rights from Warner Bros. to create material from the Hanna-Barbera characters. I've always felt that Cartoon Network Studios is the spiritual ancestor to Hanna-Barbera, and therefore the Hanna-Barbera characters- Flintstones, Scooby-Doo, Yogi Bear- are essentially Cartoon Network characters and that Cartoon Network Studios should continue the stories of the Hanna-Barbera characters in their original style with a team that recognized each show's respective style. Genndy Tartakovsky, Craig Kellman, Dave Smith and everyone else who worked on Flintstones on the Rocks completely understood the original style of the show and kept it in the special, all the while adding their own flavor. I would put them in charge of all new Flintstones material created. Whether it be 7-minute shorts, TV movies, or a full-fledged TV show. I would also put them in charge of creating anything new related to the Jetsons, Yogi Bear, or any of the other early Hanna-Barbera characters, because I'm positive they'd be able to capture their original flavor the same way they did with the Flintstones.

But that's enough about my convoluted dreams, I just think that new Flintstones material- or any Hanna-Barbera material for that matter- is welcome by me as long as Cartoon Network puts a team in charge that maintains the original flavor of the show. That's the most important part above anything else.

While I remember liking to watch both shows, although I thought that the Flintstones had much better humor than the Jetsons, I'm not sure if they deserve a revival. If they were handled in the right way that would remain close to the feel of the original series, as well as appeal to the kids of today, then it could work. However, a part of me also thinks that it would be better to simply create a new series instead of reviving an older series. That could allow more creativity on the staff's part than if they were trying to rework an older series.
