Does FAFSA sign me up for all federal financial aid i'm eligible for?

I'm totally,completely,utterly confused about FAFSA and what it does! I checked the website and it cleared up a few of my concerns but I'm still wondering if on Jan.1st 2010, when I fill out my FAFSA form, does FAFSA use the information i provided to sign me up for all federal financial aid that I'm eligible for? Or is it more of Fast webs.com thing where they just list all the aid you qualify for,and it's up to you to sign up?

please,any help would be greatly appreciated, the financial aid process is definitely a grueling process!!!!!

All federal aid, yes. You do have to accept through your school though. Contact your financial aid adviser after you complete your fafsa.

But there's much more available, state aid, you school probably has some scholarships, private foundations have scholarships. Apply early as possible for scholarships, make sure you know your school's deadlines! Our local wonderful junior college told my daughter to check back after spring break, then GUESS WHAT...they told her oh, sorry the deadline was March 2....grrrrrr.
