Does Discovery Channel's Planet Earth use some sort of CGI?

Some of the cinematography is unbelievably awesome. I am wondering whether they use CGI or it is only combination of purely the newest technology of their camera and their passion to wait for capturing the perfect moment?
 
No it's all just high definition. Amazing isn't it. Those cameras can see better than our eyes can.
