Does Dennis Rodman really deserve to be in the Hall of Fame considering...

...his off the court antics? He is very controversial and sometimes even wears dresses. Is this the type of person that should represent the NBA?

The NBA is about basketball. Dennis Rodman played basketball and played it very well. The NBA Hall of Fame is about those that excelled or were very notable at pro-basketball. If Mr. Rodman's stats and ability support his inclusion into the HOF, then he should be inducted. Anything else is irrelevant.

Don't really care what he did off the court. Though it makes me wonder if Ben Wallace will make it now since he was like similar to Rodman. Great rebounder, a multiple DPoY(he won 4 rodman has two), and both were very limited on the offensive side.

Hall of Fame status should be based solely on basketball perfomance. That said, I would not have voted for Dennis Rodman for Hall of Fame but I guess I will have to accept it. Here's why I would not have voted for him: In my opinion you need to excel all around, not just in one area. Rodman excelled at rebounding, but that's about it. He was too much of a one-trick pony in my opinion to have been selected. As I said, I guess I will just have to accept it. I suggest you do the same.

By your statement then Jordan should be banned from the NBA!

Michael Jordan's adultery, homophobia, degenerate gambling problem, and pro-sweatshop stance should be banned altogether.

What did he do on the court? Dominate the boards. He may be the most prolific rebounder of all time, and he has not broken any NBA rules that would get you kicked out of the league... he hasn't gambled on the sport in any way that I know of... like Pete Rose in baseball. Personally, I don't think Rose should be out of the hall either... judge folks by what they did for the sport... but if we're getting into the steroid issue, that is straight cheating, and those folks do not belong in the hall.

he deserve to be in the HOF, he is the best
rebounder during 90's era and one of the best
defender ever.

only reason he shouldn't be in HOF is not his
off court activities, rather should be he late
career (after the bulls) seems he has lost
passion for basketball, where he play for the
lakers... then Mavs... then Bucks.

His off the court antics had nothing to do with his achievements on the court. He is the best defender/ rebounder of the 90's era and a major factor in the championships to both the Pistons and Bulls organization. He may not have been a role model but he was one hell of a basketball player.
