does convict fish need air?

i have one convict and its in it's own tank
i have one air pump only
i just wanna no if i need another air pump for the convict so it could breath or it dont need an air pump
 
one will suffice depending on what size tank anything between 29 gallons to 10 gallons one is good.. if you are worried about not having enuff air i reccomend live plants. good luck!
