Does BlockBuster ID their games in anyway? Trying to swap a bad disc.?

MY copy of Red Dead went bad. No scratches at all, it's clean, just doesn't work. I was thinking about renting it from BlockBuster then swapping the discs and return it for not working. I see no flaws except the possiblilty of them having a sticker or stamp on the original copy. Do they do this or is it just a plain disc no different than another?

If BlockBuster won't work would this? I go to Gamestop, purchase a used version of my copy and go home to swap the disc. Return later saying it didn't work and get a refund. Would I get a refund for a used game?

Thoughts?

IF that won't work would this? buy it used form Gamestop
