Does AT&T let you unlock their phones after the contract is over?

I am only living in the USA for two years, so it would be nice to be able to use my Captivate when I move back to my home country. Is this possible by then? Can AT&T do it themselves, and how much would it cost in that case?
 
AT&T won't unlock your Samsung Captivate before the contract is over. If you wish to cancel the contract after 2 years and unlock your phone, You should pay the contract cancellation fee and unlock fee to AT&T which would be very costly to you.
