Does Army pay for certain things when we ETS?

My husband just found out he is getting a medical discharge and they are swearing we will be ETSing by July or sometime within July. This doesn't give me much time to find out everything I need to know or save up money for anything. We have a cat and dog and we are stationed in Germany. So I need to know, since my husbands unit doesnt seem to know, Do they help pay for any of the travel costs of our furry friends?

Also, What do they pay for? Like do they pay for our flights? We heard they will set us up with a place in the states so we arent homeless? Is this true? Any additional info is greatly appreciated.
I would ask my husband but then I am just bugging him and he forgets to ask his highers anything, not to mention he has a ton to do as is. So Ill take the help where I can get it. Thanks a bunch.
 
Your flights home will be paid for, your pets' tickets will not. If it is an honorable discharge (a medical is), you will get all the standard PCS benefits. Depending on your rank, how long you've been in, and the reason for discharge, you may be entitled to some separation pay. But, no, you will not get a free place to live when you get back to the states.
Your husband should be in an ACAP class immediately if he hasn't already gone. You can go with him to this. It will help answer a lot of your questions about transitioning out of the military. Since he is being medically discharged, he should also be working on his VA benefits. Call your transition center and family center/ACS office. They can sit down with you and answer all of your questions, even without your husband. Call as soon as you can.
