The main component of the "Bush Doctrine" is the choice to go to war as a preemptive action against possible threats.
 
the question it unanswerable..what is the bush doctrine? there is no such thing..the media has labeled 4 speeches the bush doctrine ..none were the same. his policies evolve over time. the date he quoted did not mach any of them...so i ask you..what is the bush doctrine
 
Yes, Gibson was also condescending. As it turns out, there are four different foreign policy statements by President Bush that different reporters have labeled with the term "Bush Doctrine." None of these labels is official. Palin picked the fourth one, and then Gibson claimed the "real" Bush Doctrine was the second one. That is a pre-planned gotcha, typical for the liberal media. The upcoming interview with Hannity (airing Tuesday and Wednesday of next week) should be a lot more professional and informative.
 
I think the fact that Palin was not able to answer ALL THE DAMN QUESTIONS speaks to her unworthiness to be in the second most powerful office in the world! It is a sad and pathetic day when the American people are too dumb to see right through this "American Idol" candidate. Wake up America!!! This is not a game show. "Ambushed" is just an excuse for someone that is "unqualified". Palin is scary dumb, like George W. Bush.

No. It was obvious that Palin had her list of memorized answers and Gibson had to ask the same question again and again because she never really gave a straight answer.
 
Ambushed? Hardly. Would you rather he lobbed softball questions at her, like Fox always does to the Republicans.

If she tried to dodge questions, he has every right in the world to keep pounding on them until he gets a real answer.

no. thats what an objective reporter does is aks questions.....and not just softballs for the policians but hard questions that will make them squirm too.

But of course Republicans feel any hard questioning of a republican is a conspiracy against them.
 
She only knew the answers she was given to memorize and couldn't think beyond the rhetoric....and she pronounced "nuclear" as "NUCULER"...Wonder where she got that answer from?

With all this talk about Sarah Palin redefining feminism and people who don't support her candidacy being sexist, I think we could use a little clarification.

Women's progress at work and in government is critically important. We are not, after all, living in the Dark Ages. But, and this is a VERY IMPORTANT BUT, consider the following scenario.

You're about to board a plane and a flight attendant says, "Today as part of our responsiveness to customers program you may choose Mr. joe here as co-pilot. He will fly the airplane should something go wrong with the pilot, who isn't at his best today. Mr. joe has been a pilot for twenty years and has an impeccable record. He is, however, a man. Because you support the advancement of women in the workplace, we also have a woman (Sarah ) here who is willing to fly your plane. She is not a pilot but she didn't blink when asked to do this and for the past week a team of experts has been talking to her a lot about how to fly."

Who would you choose? If you chose Pilot Joe, would that be sexist? Or would you simply not be a complete idiot?

Apply this to Sarah Palin. She has not spent time in Washington as a senator or a congresswoman. She has spent most of her life in Alaska. From her interview with Charlie Gibson, it is clear that she is proud of not blinking about making decisions that affect millions of lives. And she is uninformed about the workings of the U.S. government.

Personally I'd have nothing against Sarah running for a seat in the House or Senate. It's a reasonable next step. And were she blocked from this path because of her gender, disparaged and demeaned in the press, I'd be miffed for sure. That would be sexist.

But just because I'd like to go to NASA and tell them that by November I want to be an astronaut, doesn't mean they should hand over the space shuttle.

There is far too much at stake to put someone completely inexperienced in the ways of Washington and the world so close to the presidency. There's no excuse for it, really. And it show the lack of sound judgment on John McCain part he should know that. This is not sexist; it's simply common sense
