Does anyone know when the latest / newest version of the Apple iMac came out?

I am thinking of buying one and I don't want to buy one if the current version has been out for awhile ...

With my luck they will start selling an upgraded one at half the price the day after I buy mine ...

So, does anyone know the date the latest one was released to stores?
