Ok, so a year ago I bought a used 2006 Pontiac G6 and got an extended warranty on it. well two days ago my boyfriend and I were driving in a town 25 minutes away and when the car would switch gears (while taking off, not slowing down) my car would jerk forward. my boyfriend thought it was the transmission slipping, but a local transmission mechanic said it was the purge valve/emission thing in the fuel line. so my question is... how easy is something like this to fix? can I go to an O'Reilly's or Autozone and get them to hook it up to a computer and tell me what the problem is? I'm going to bring my car in to a different mechanic tomorrow, but I just want some opinions and an idea of what's going on. also, would fuel lines be covered under an extended warranty?
