Film OR Digital?
I have a 3 Nikon Film, one Canon Rebel T2 Film, and a Canon 30D as my Digital. I love them all, but am looking to get a better digital. I would say start out with film then work to digital, but, if you must go digital, get a Rebel STI, a great camera to start out with, and work your way from there!
