Does anyone know this book?

I read it in the fourth grade. It's set in the future, and Earth is like dying or whatever, and this girl goes on this space ship to get away from it, and her and her family are taken to this new planet. In this planet, every thing's really different, and the girl really hates it, so she mostly reads the books she stole from Earth. The only specific detail I remember is that the grass on that planet cut like glass. I think that the title has something to do with the words Green and Planet, but I'm not really sure. Can anyone help me out?
