It's very hard to explain... I used to have a ton of them as a child and I LOVED them but I haven't seen one in years. It basically starts with a base that is similar to what is used in cross stitching with all the holes all over the place. It's actually the exact same thing just rather than being plastic its a softer material. And it comes with hundreds and hundres little tiny pieces of string (probably a couple of inches in length each) that you use a tool to tie around the holes until it turns into the picture that it's intended to. They look really lovely when they're done, like a mini homemade rug.
If anyone knows the name of this or even better where I can purchase one at I would be extremely thrilled. I realize my description is quite confusing especially to someone who has never seen one before, but I don't know how to word it any better.
