Does anyone know the author/authress of this book?

It's called "The Movies" and its about the live of 3/4 women, i can't remember, started reading the first few pages on holiday a couple of years ago, and have never been able to find who it's by. Googling it doesn't help at all, and neither has a search of the online catalog of my local library and waterstones.
