houses if there is no fence up.? I walked through the two houses across the street from my house (to go to the field that is directly behind them). I usually walk around but this time I walked through. There is no fence up or "no trespassing" sign up. On my way back with my dogs the owner came up to me screaming and cussing and threatening me. Saying that she can "blow my head off" if I tresspass again. I called the police and they didn't say anything about tresspassing, just that I should probably not walk through there. This is in Texas, city of Plano. Anyone???

Actually, she can't "blow your head off" for trespassing especially if there's not a 'no trespassing' sign posted. Not even in Texas. She needs to post a 'no trespassing' sign before she goes off.

That said ... do you really want to risk your life on a technicality of the law against some raving lunatic like that? Go around. But let your dogs crap on her lawn every chance you get.

A fence is merely a means for privacy and to contain animals. It does not matter if there is a fence or not... it's private property and you were trespassing.

Um yeah a it doesn't matter if there's a fence or not. Your entering on their personal property. I just wouldn't do it again.

There are many different types of property crimes. They begin with simple trespass and range to burglary.

If you walk onto another person's personal property, and you are an uninvited guest, then the property owner can file a complaint with a county attorney's office.

Nobobdy can shoot you, however, unless they are acting in self-defense.
