Does anyone know of any good authors...?

I am looking for authors that have a similar writing style as Lee Nichols of Red Dress Ink. I like to read these before bed. They are fun and adventurous for the most part. I just like to read those types of books, not mysteries, suspense, drama or crimes book. If it is a drama, I would like more of a "dramedy" rather than crying all the time. I would like to feel fun! hehe Lee Nichols makes me feel like I can get to know the characters.

If you have any suggestions about an author or have just a good book to suggest..Please by all means, do say so.

Thanks everyone. I am going to look up some stuff tomorrow on the authors that you have suggested. I really appreciate your answers. I would love to view more if anyone has suggestions.
 
how about - cassandra clare, melina marchetta, stephen king, claudia gray..

now for some books... the mortal instruments series (a MUST read)
on the jelicoe road (another MUST read) + all malinna marchetta books
