Does anyone know of a NY animal rights lawyer?

Does anybody know of an attorney on Long Island in NY that practices animal rights law and might represent dog owners in a dangerous dog hearing? This is a friend of a friend type situation wherein owners of three German Shepherds had the dogs get out of the fenced-in yard and one of them bit a woman, who does not know which dog it was and is demanding that all three be put down. My mom asked me to help, so here I am. I have found a couple of NYC attorneys through the New York Bar site, but nobody on Long Island. These people do not have a lot of money, so would need local counsel.
ETA - Usually animal rights lawyers will represent owners in dangerous dog hearings - I did not think this was a case of enforcing an animal's right to bite, but I will get more details and send an e-mail. Thank you.

I do know a Huntington attorney who has represented at least one dog owner on two separate occasions. I'm not sure what his case load is like, or what he would charge, but if you can email me more details directly, then I can bring it to him and see what he says. I don't think this qualifies as an 'animal rights' case, since no dog has the right to bite someone when they aren't being threatened
