Does anybody know of an attorney on Long Island in NY that practices animal rights law and might represent dog owners in a dangerous dog hearing? This is a friend of a friend type situation wherein owners of three German Shepherds had the dogs get out of the fenced-in yard and one of them bit a woman, who does not know which dog it was and is demanding that all three be put down. My mom asked me to help, so here I am. I have found a couple of NYC attorneys through the New York Bar site, but nobody on Long Island. These people do not have a lot of money, so would need local counsel.
ETA - Usually animal rights lawyers will represent owners in dangerous dog hearings - I did not think this was a case of enforcing an animal's right to bite, but I will get more details and send an e-mail. Thank you.
