I was in Paris many, many years ago - 1973. I remembered seeing a painting titled something like "The Beheading of John the Baptist". Of all the popular paintings and sculptures and artifacts, I remembered that particular painting over everything else. For some reason tho, I can't find it listed as one of the 65 paintings in the Louvre (now). Am I dreaming or do they periodically change their items? The painting that I'm thinking it was is actually hanging in the London Gallery. I've been to London but I didn't go to the Gallery. I know I saw it on the same visit (and I'm thinking the same WALL) as the Mona Lisa. Am I wrong or what?
Does anyone know if there used to be a painting hanging in the Louvre.....?
