Hello everyone,

I'm about 14 months post op for a L2-L3 fusion (second surgery) and was wondering if anyone knows if a bone growth stimulator will help the fusion happen or is it too late.

My gut tells me that its too late and I'm headed for a third surgery and the loss of my career. Any help is appreciated.

Thanks in advance and best wishes,

If the doctor thinks it's an option it's worth trying. External bone growth stimulators are painless and if they work can help. Ideally they are used earlier, I had mine at around 3 weeks post op for both my neck and my lurabar spine.

I agree. At this point, I will try anything for a successful outcome. Im just afraid that the graft material has died out over the last year and it wont work. After all this time has passed, I just keep thinking it is just putting off the inevitable. It has become very hard to keep the faith after one surgery after another has failed. The bad thing is there is no real explanation as to why. I dont think it was anything the doc did and he doesnt think it was anything i did or didnt do. Maybe just fate.

How long does it take for results to be seen. I am under the impression that I will have to wear it for four hours a day but I havent heard from the company yet.

Thanks SpineAZ for your insights. I have always enjoyed reading your posts.
