Does anyone know how to install a sidebar? Into my tumblr html code?

I'm trying to use this website: http://www.marcofolio.net/webdesign/create_a_sticky_sidebar_or_box.html

But the directions are very confusing. Could anyone help? I'm using Internet Explorer

Also when I'm done, where in my theme code do I place the sidebar?
