I am looking for housing in NYC this summer because I just got a fantastic job as an art instructor for kids, and since I want to be a photographer, that will look great on my resume. The only problem is housing in Manhattan. Every rental/sublet site I've looked at (yes, including craigslist), has an posting by a company called roominvasion that claims to rent out rooms starting at $75/week, utilities included, doormen, laundry facilities, pets ok, nice neighborhoods, etc. This almost seems too good to be true, and when I googled it I was only able to find another company called 2dacore realty that has the same advertisements. I was wondering if anyone knows anything about this company-- is it a scam?
The website is http://roominvasion.110mb.com/en/ny/rooms/.
They claim that "Part of our proceeds goes to a non-profit organization supporting education of the youngest in the third world".
