I have a 1973 Ford truck and the fuel gauge doesn't let me know when I don't have gas anymore. The gauge moves but I guess the part I need is called a fuel float or floater is this correct? Please help. When I put gas the gauge moves and shows that it's full but then the next thing I know I get stuck somewhere because it ran out of gas, but the gauge never showed that I was low on fuel in the first place. I went to my local auto parts place and they said they didn't carry parts for trucks that old. What is the part called that I need and where can I get it? Thanks for your help.
