flat and tarmac-ed? I went cycling with my partner on Saturday at Bewl Water in Sussex. Despite the route being largely flat, for someone as unfit as me, it was too arduous. I had not been cycling for over 5 years and am overweight. We had gone no further than about a mile and a half when I passed out. My partner had to walk me and bikes back to the car park where we promptly went home. It was not a success.
What did it, was the first bit of the route was up a very slight incline around the edge of the water, the route being gravelly.
We have decided that we should start off with tarmac covered FLAT routes, but dont know where to go.
We'd be happy anywhere in Kent, Sussex, Surrey or East and South London if you have any advice.
Im not confident enough to travel on the roads so off roads or VERY quiet roads would be best.
