Does anyone know about Survey taking?

I joined this website online and it says that I can take surveys to make money. If I fill in my information for like a JCP gift card like my address and phone number, do they send something to my house? will they keep sending letters or is it ok to take the survey and fill in info. but the company won't bother you? Is it a scam to get info?
