I have a four month old pit/boxer mix that I am currently woods training for a section hike on the Appalachian Trail that I am going on later this year. I have been searching for a dog hiking bag, but am having trouble finding one that comes in an extra large size and that has bags big enough to hold at least 7 days worth of food, as well as a leash, a cable tie, at least one small fleece blanket, a dog jacket, a portable food and water dish, and doggie medical supplies.
She currently eats 6 cups of food a day and already weighs almost 45lbs. She is in "ideal condition" according to dog size charts(and she will be eatting much more while hiking).
She already fits into an extra large dog harness and it is not at it's smallest size.
Does anyone know of a place that sells dog harnesses that will fit a dog that will weigh around 85-120lbs and that will have plenty of storage space for the dog's gear for a 5-7day hike. Or if anyone can recommend any specific "brand names" I can search for on eBay that have these specs.
