...left side of the brake? or better yet, are there any portable control that I can take from one car to another? I sometimes rent cars when I am on a business trip or vacation.

I have a limited use of my right leg. My insurance requires me to have gas pedal on the left side of the brake. I currently use my left leg to operate brake and the gas pedal on the right. Which I have no problem with at all but having a gas pedal on the right side is a requirement for insurance purposes.
