Does ANYONE here know the difference between "moot" and "mute" besides me?

Moot: "not actual; theoretical; hypothetical"
Mute: "not emitting or having sound of any kind"

So, when someone says something you think is made invalid by another point, it is MOOT, not MUTE. There is a disturbing trend to misuse these terms.

Thumbs up to the first person who mentions that this question is rendered mute by some other fact.
Realistic girl, it isn't just you. This comes up a LOT in the politics section.
FLSwamp won the thumbs up for being first. Congratulations!!
