Does anyone have info on the '96 and '97 Trek mountain bikes given away with VW cars?

Production numbers (how many were made) and any other details would be greatly appreciated. The numbers on the bottom bracket shell are WTU1169373N, VW 19.5 and 7007487. Thanks!
