Does anyone have any tips for a beginner on the game BlazBlue?

I'm not really good at fighting games, and it's kinda hard for me to chain combos, especially when I have to do multiple turns of the analog stick. BUT I LOVE THIS GAME. Please give me tips that'll help me from being a n00b (I hate spamming buttons) to a pro, or at least good at it.

Main character: Ragna
Secondary Character: Noel

Character suggestions are also welcome.
