Does anyone have any suggestions for some good books that are part of a series?

(eg. Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, Twilight, etc.) If you have any suggestions, please pass them along. As well, if could you give me a brief description of the storyline, it would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Hmmm you like vampires that are not all the cutesy stuff light Twilight try
the Necroscope(5 books) and Blood Brothers(3) series by Brian Lumley.

If you like or maybe Dragon Riders of Pern and the books that follow by Anne McCaffrey.

Or... Lord Of the Rings is always a good read, or any of the Tolkien books. Beware the Similarion though.

The Wizard of Earth Sea by Ursala LeGuin there are three short books, but still good.

Micheal Moorcock also has a series about a man who keeps shifting to different lives and worlds as a long dead hero Erekcose (among other names).

Just a couple of the ones I like.

I'm a very picky reader and Libba Bray caught my interest in the first chapter of her first book and kept held me captive all the way to the end. If you like the Victorian era and a girl that thrives to be unlike everyone else, a girl with a magickal background, and a tragic, haunting family history that will shock you, and a sweet romance with a heart-aching ending, these books are for you.

Known as The Gemma Doyle Trilogy:

1. The Great and Terrible Beauty
2. Rebel Angels
3. The Sweet Far Thing

I am slowly getting off my obsessed stage with these, but I still love them. If you read them, I hope that you'll love them as well.

P.S. If you're like me, you'll wish for Libba to write another book in this series, even though it's called a Trilogy.

Inheritance Series (Eragon, Eldest, Brisingr)

Inkheart Series

His Dark Materials (the golden compass, etc)

Maximum Ride Series.

and any series by Mercedes Lackey, so far I have read the Halfblooded Chronicles, the five Hundred Kingdoms series, and the obsidian trilogy, but i've also read singular books by her, i love her books.
