Does anyone have any suggestions for a sign shop just starting in a small town?

I have 13 years experience in many forms of graphic design, From t-shirt shops to ad agencies. I finally am able to have my own business (doing signs, vehicle graphics... etc.) My problems are a small town, and alot of competition. Any suggestions?
