Clavius is right. And I'll add that the phenomenon of a group of planes being mistaken for one large object is also the explanation for the big Stephensville, Texas, UFO flap.

Clavius, not only the UFO faithful but let's not forget the former governor of Arizona.

soooo anyone? just remember this thing was huge so in my opp ion it was either a alien space craft or military craft...which i doubt would hang over a whole city

just because you doubt they would hang over a city doesn't mean they didn't

I've witnessed apaches here in austin out of bergstrum hover over the south east side of town and lob a flare of some sort into the distant.

seems peculiar to fire such a project over peoples house or even near the airport. but then again, who am I besides an uniformed witness.

the pheonix lights seem to be just a normal day of helicopter formation practice.

they'll probably never do it at night in public again since so many people have such a wild imagination.

it is possible races exist out there MANY MANY times more evolved than us....
earth 4 billion
other planets 12 billion http://www.space.com/scienceastronomy/oldest_planet_030710-1.html

humans (homosapiens) 5 million years old
dinasourse 160 million years old.(when annihilated)

so, my point being. obviously life out there has a huge chance of being more advanced, but why would they come to us.

a 5 million year old species, just a baby and ignorant.what makes us special? we're not.

and why hide..... so poorly? thats pretty stupid for an advanced race.

and we haven't even talked about the speed of light and how BIG the universe actually is.

the chances of aliens out there? 100%
the chances of them NOT coming here 99.9999999999%

EDIT ---- parachute flares?
hmmm. reminds me of.....

I bet that can look spooky at night

The Phoenix Lights, sometimes referred to as "the Lights over Phoenix", is the popular name given to a series of optical phenomena and sightings that took place in the sky over the U.S. states of Arizona and Nevada, and the Mexican state of Sonora on March 13, 1997.
A similar incident occurred April 21, 2008, although this incident was later reported to be a prank--flares attached to helium balloons.[

The fantasy that aliens are out there and spying on us is very alluring to the general public. Sightings and abductions and such..

The problem people ignore is that the universe is 15 billion years old!

It is very likely that aliens exist and watch us. i believe this

But we must also deduce that they have million if not billions of years more experience and technological growth. They may have reached a universe plateau for technology.

So for any potential sighting... abduction... etc. it is easy to reason that aliens could easily watch and study while being completely oblivious to our line of sight.

Basically

If they want to be seen. We will all know it... No questions asked.. it would be absolute

Absence of evidence is No Evidence of Absence
