During the 20th Century, the powers that be did a find job pumping the American public full of fear. The Cold War began after World War II when the Berlin Wall fell. Then Joseph McCarthy blacklisted many people he didn't like by accusing them of being communists. After 9/11, anyone who didn't support the war in Iraq was accused of being terrorists. The Dixie Chicks took a beating from the far right. Lots of anti-Muslim hate crimes happened sporadically across America after those tragic events. Now everyone is sweating bullets over the uprising in Iran. Some people still think Barack Obama is Muslim and a terrorist. The hawks keep feeding us propaganda non-stop. This reminds me of the Domino Theory during the Vietnam War where everyone believed if one country fell to communism another would fall. So can anyone else see the connection between the war in Iraq and Afghanistan with the Cold War? Does anyone else see our ignorance allowing history to repeat itself?
Red Scare, you know? The fear of communists taking over. That's what happened during the Cold War. Now everyone is petrified that the terrorists will take over the world as if all other countries would allow this to happen, too.
