Does anyone else here have Virgin Media services?

I'm asking because I called them up a few days ago as they kept raising the price of my broadband connection, I have their basic service and thought I was being overcharged and I spoke with a manager who said he was from retentions or something.

He said that they could offer me a better broadband packed, a phone line and their second biggest TV package for £29 per month but in the information pack I just recieved in the post it says that my total cost each month will be £42.50, what's going on? have they cheated me? If that's true then I'm going to cancel completely and go to Sky xxxx

I have virgin mobile and its costs like 50c each freakin text
 
I just have the TV and phone package,so I dont know if Sky is any cheaper overall,I stay with them because its cheaper for phone and basic cable package but I dont know about Broadband.The thing is about Virgin Media is that they do like slapping on late payment charges but usually thats in the small print.It sounds like they are trying to trick you to sign up to more over the phone.
